OMG. From the moment I saw their insta story I knew this will be a BIG moment. Lately I didn't listen to TNBH it was a 2022 thing for me but I'm telling you the moment I heard even the possibility of a new album my obsession came back. And they didn't dissapoint: I could say at least one thing about (almost) every song why it's my favourite.
And then I loved all of the pre released songs, the wait became even harder. BUT. Now it's here and it's all I've been listening to since then. And here is my hyperanalisation.
Solid opening. The rythm is SOOOOO TNBH I love it.
"Dashboard hula girl, honey/ Come and treat me like a crash-test dummy"
One of the three pre released songs but still one of the best. It's upbeat, it's lyrics is great, I like it overall.
Another pre released one. If I had to reason beside this song with one thing it would be the lyrics of the outro. I just love it.
"You just gotta say a few magic words/ Baby, you're the one that's gonna break the curse/ What's it really matter who says it first?/ Say it to me, babe, I wanna break the curse"
And the final pre released track. This one was my favourite. Although it's hard to choose from Lovebomb and this one. I tend to not listen to the pre released tracks as often but this one is still in my rotation. It's the rythm of the chorus that does it for me.
Oh this is an angry one. Personally it's new to me that TNBH makes what's considered "angry music" for me but I am so here for it. I like the lyrics too. (You will here this a couple more times, it is very important to me in songs) Became one of my favourites
"If I cry when I laugh/ Don't be surprised if I crash"
If we only look at the melody it's a happier song, BUT. The lyrics. To be honest the first time I looked at the lyrics for this one is while I wrote this and damn. This hurts.
"I'll let you take my love for granted"
Everytime I hear the chorus I ascend. This song is so beautiful, it's one of my favourites.
"Wake you up, middle of the night/ Saw you in my dream, I need you right now/ Made you late again, I'm sorry, baby"
HOW I LOVE THIS ONE. And how it breaks my heart every damn time I hear it. This is a melodical and lyrical masterpiece.
"Walking in the rain/'Til I see a rainbow"
This reminds me of Lil Ol Me. The rythm of it somehow.
"Playin' with the flames/Is dangerous but worth the taste/ Just a bite to remind/ Me of why I always stay"
At first listen I was obsessed but now. I like it, just not as much. Maybe because of the melody of "It's going down, slooooooow" Also the scream. THE. SCREAM.
"When it was real, it's all that I could feel until it went away"
This lyrics sounds silly but I love it.
I LOVE THE MELODY. AND THE LYRICS. AND EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. Also the melody of (Ta-da-da, da-da-da) reminds me of My Singing Monsters. Sorry if you can't unhear it now.
"Lucid dreamer, insomniac/ I'm losing sleep, would you call me back?/ I'm glued to the screen like a zombie, yeah"
If I had to rank these songs this one would probably be the second to last. I'm not saying I don't like it, but there are so many better ones. And in my personal opinion saying "mama" and "my love" in the same verse is icky... But the rythm near the end is catchy. And I'm sad because it would be such a good song but I won't listen to it as much I know for a fact.
Nope. I'm sorry. I like this one the least.
The melody is mid, but I like the lyrics.
"You can be so sincere/ Wish I could close my ears/ Tell me the coast is clear"
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. Again the angriness and the build up to the bridge is a chef kiss. AND THE BRIDGE. Everytime I hear the bridge I ascend.
"Joke's on you, stupid boy/ I won't let you kill my joy"
