Introduction
The Magnus Archives is a podcast made by Rusty Quill about a group of people who work at the Magnus Institute and research paranormal sightings and events. The main character is Jonathan Sims as The Archivist (voiced by Jonathan Sims), Tim Stoker, Martin Blackwood, Sasha James as the archival assistants and Elias Bouchard as the head of the institute. While what may look like the collection of silly stories at first later comes together in an overarching plot. If this description piqued your interest I urge you to listen to a few episodes before reading further as I will inevitably talk about some smaller or bigger plot twists.
Summary of S1
Jon (The Arhivist) is very skeptic in the first half and I liked it. It was so amusing how he voice acted the cases as if he believed it then at the end just said "statement ends" in the most monotone tone ever. I really liked Sasha too and was really sad at the end of season 1. Martin also holds a special place in my heart his voice actor makes him sound so friendly and welcoming. I mean Martin is friendly and welcoming so he does a great job at that. He has the type of voice that I hear anytime in an episode and I know I would do horrible things to protect him. However I am not a big fan of Tim. I don't know what it is but he just kind of pisses me off to a degree I can't explain.
Ah, the ending of s1, I will never forget the feeling of finishing an entire season of this masterpiece. I will also never forget how the plot twist including Sasha made me want to cry my eyes out. I liked Graham in Mag 3 too, the loss of one of the main characters, to the not!them creatures hit me hard. But Jon's character developement was also sooo good. The heart to heart conversation they had with Martin in that room is such a great detail. I love that the reason the infestation was recorded on tape is explained. And in such a great way too. As a writer I always struggle with giving details to my readers in a way it doesn't feel like the conversation was there for the sake of giving insight. Well yes I might be biased about this podcast because I love the writing of it too.

My ratings
All of this is overall value for me, not how scary I found them. I will also be more considerate with giving 5 stars to episodes in the future because looking through this list I would alter some of my decisions if I let myself, but this is also from the notebook. There are also contradictions between the favourites list and this (ex. Mag 37 is labeled as favourite whereas it's only a 3/5) but my brains works weirdly so just please accept that some episodes that got mid rated are still my favourites.
